From the Flight Deck
Greetings!
This week is our last full week on campus. Our students will be on a modified bell schedule from Monday-Thursday. Students will be completing their Common Finals Exams (CFEs) in a lot of their class periods. The number of CFE tests students are taking will vary based on their schedule. The bell schedule can be found below and it was also shared with students via their Canvas inbox. CFEs are 20% of the students' final grade in the course they are taking. The majority of the CFEs will be taken on their laptop. Students need to bring their charged laptop and charger to school daily.

In regards to laptops, students will be turning in their OCPS issued laptop on Monday, May 23rd or Tuesday, May 24th. Further information is below. In regards to fines, many students currently have outstanding fines. Others due to lost chargers or the condition of their device may be assessed a fine when they turn in their laptop. All fines can be paid online through SchoolPay.com. All of the Legacy SchoolPay links can be found on our school website: https://legacyms.ocps.net/news/school_pay

Lastly, as we are wrapping up the school year we have different events planned for our 8th graders. Friday 8th grade students attended Gradventure. This week students who received invites will be attending Leave Your Legacy on Tuesday, May 17th and during the last week of school on Wednesday, May 25th 8th graders will have the opportunity to participate in field day during their last three periods of middle school.

Let’s have a great week Jets!

Thank you,

Principal Jiménez

Resume building support for parents and high school grads:
The Orange County Library System has a number of resources available for FREE to help with job searches and resume building beneficial to both OCPS students and parents. One example is their "Brainfuse" resume review service which assists with "writing a winning resume" at no cost and is available 24 hours. You can also use their "Book a Pro" service to get help from a librarian for 30 minutes at a time, also at no cost. All that is needed is a library card number or school ID (no charge for Orange County residents).
