MVHS Showcase - "The Greatest Show"

You are invited to attend “Mission Viejo’s Greatest Showcase” on Monday, January 11 from 6:00-8:00 pm. This LIVE VIRTUAL event will feature over 80 faculty members, 40 coaches, students, guidance counselors and administrators all on hand to answer questions and demonstrate what Mission Viejo High School has to offer your student as an incoming Freshman. Please register on our website to get early access to speak with our staff at the event. We can’t wait to meet you and prove that “This is the Greatest Show!”
Food Services Information
Food Services is currently serving FREE hot meals to all students on campus Tuesday through Friday @ 11:05 and 12:05. Meals can be picked up by the gym quad rolling gate and on Chrisanta Drive near the Science Bldg. These meals include hot lunches "to go" and a frozen breakfast for the next day. 6th meal or our bag of sunflower seeds, applesauce, fruit juice, wheat crackers, raisins, and a cereal bar. We will offer this 6th meal on Wednesdays and Fridays, in person and for Distance on Monday. This is a new item, which we will be adding from now on.


Additional meals are being distributed on Mondays at the Gym quad rolling gate. See below for specifics.

Hybrid Students – If you are currently enrolled in the Hybrid model, you can come to campus on Mondays between 9:00-10:00 a.m. to receive 3 days of breakfast and 3 frozen lunches (white/chocolate milk is offered, but optional).

Distance Learning Students – If you are currently enrolled in 100% Distance Learning, you can come to campus on Mondays between 11:30-12:30 p.m. to pick up 5 frozen breakfasts and 5 frozen lunches (white/chocolate milk is offered, but optional).

Remember the most important news is that All meals are FREE to ALL students.

Library Information
Students who had CIVICS, ECONOMICS, PSYCHOLOGY 1A and/or HEALTH 1st semester and still need to turn in their textbooks can still turn them in to the Library to avoid late fees. Thank you!

Library hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am to 2:30pm.

Activities & Clubs
MVHS Esports
Looking for a way to get involved at school and play video games? Consider joining our MVHS Esports community! We are currently recruiting players for a League of Legends team (competitive and casual players welcome). Please complete this Google Form (https://forms.gle/tj8Nr9Mc9fpdJ33A8) and/or join this Discord channel (https://discord.gg/RTfRDSmTge) if you are interested. If League of Legends isn't your thing, lucky for you, gamers usually play more than one game. Girls' Tennis

Interested in playing girls' tennis? Tryouts will take place on January 13 & 14 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the MVHS tennis courts. Please contact Coach Sabus with questions: mark.sabus@svusd.org.

All boys returning and new wanting who would like to participate in Soccer this coming season, please see below for tryout information.

Spring Musical - "The Addams Family"
It's time to get involved in the MVHS Spring Musical "The Addams Family"! If you like to act, sing, dance or create costumes, props, and sets then come to the zoom meeting on Tuesday, January 12th at 1:00 to get information and learn How to Audition for the School Musical! This is open to anyone in the school!! Make new friends and have some fun! The zoom link can be found at the MVHS Drama website here
Guidance & Counseling
Social Emotional Learning Workshops Available For Students
Our Counseling team has partnered with Western Youth Services to provide interactive Social Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops for students during the school day. Each workshop (8) will be approximately 1 hour on specific Thursdays throughout the semester. Attendance is open to all SVUSD students using their school email address. Workshop schedule and Zoom link below.

Seniors - Class of 2020
ATTENTION SENIORS! Did you order your cap and gown, graduation announcements, class of 2021 merch, and class ring? If you did, great! You can now stop reading this now.

If you did NOT place your order, make sure to do it NOW. Do not delay! Caps and gowns are custom made to fit, and sizing options become more limited the longer you wait. Custom engraved graduation announcements are printed in limited quantities, and can only be ordered while supplies last. College and Career visits are being held virtually this year. All students are welcomed to attend. Students will need to sign up for the college visit ahead of time Sign up here

Once students are signed up, an email with the zoom link will be sent to the students. See below for the schedule of colleges visiting our campus. This is a great opportunity for students to gain knowledge about various campuses, majors and more.

$35,000 Available in Scholarships From Cox Charities

Orange County and Palos Verdes, Calif. – December 29, 2020 - Cox Charities is offering $35,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors in the Orange County and Palos Verdes areas. The Cox Scholars scholarships range from $2,500 to $5,000. Recipients must be a 2021 graduating high school senior living in Cox’s Southern California service area.

In 2020, ten Cox Scholars from Orange County and Palos Verdes were recognized for their successes in the classroom and in the community.
