NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Working From Home!

We thought you might like to see your friendly LPL staff's workstations while we work hard from home! We've joined the rest of the town employees who are able to work from home in doing so this week. We miss the books and the library, but...

We are here for you, even while working remotely, so please don't hesitate to reach out. We are available by phone (978.582.4140) and email, both of which will be answered promptly.

Learning Resources:

Scholastic Learn at Home: Day-by-day projects to keep kids reading, thinking, and growing.

National Emergency Library: Provides Digitized Books to Students and the Public provided by The Internet Archive

Enrichment Resources: Lunenburg School System put together a comprehensive list of learning tools for students K-12.
OverDrive Instant Digital Card: How It Works

When you access the  CW MARS OverDrive collection, you will be prompted to login. If you do not have a library card, you have the option to access the digital collection using your mobile number. This prompt will appear on the login screen in both OverDrive and Libby.

You will be prompted to provide your name and mobile number. A one-time code will be sent via SMS.

You will then use your mobile number to sign in. This card will be good for one year. If you already have a library card, we ask that you use that instead of signing up for a Instant Digital Card.
A letter from the President of The Lunenburg Historical Society

Dear Community Members,

I hope that you and your family are all safe and healthy.

We are living through unprecedented times. When studying times of crisis, historians, archives, and museums depend not only on the actions of national and international leaders, but on records of daily life. The Lunenburg Historical Society, in cooperation with the Lunenburg Public Library, is making an effort to collect a digital archive of community members’ experiences of the COVID-19 Pandemic in real time.

If you would like to participate, you can record a daily digital journal. We have created a Google Sheets template for anyone who wants to record a line-a-day journal during the duration of the pandemic (and beyond). You are not obligated to submit your journal to the Historical Society COVID-19 Digital Archive. However, if you live or work in Lunenburg, we would greatly appreciate if you considered doing so.

Please Note: If you do not have a Google account, you can still save the template as an Excel spreadsheet via the link below.

Recording History in the Age of a Pandemic
Sincerely,

Chuck Venezia
