Holding In-Person and Virtual Events During COVID
As DCSD school parents who are not only navigating current student schedules but also PTO duties, you may find yourselves challenged with how to raise funds for your schools or organizations. Achieving success, while keeping everyone safe, is definitely a challenge this year. Many are turning to virtual events, hybrid events or modified in-person events.
If you are looking into holding an in-person event, there are both state and county regulations that need to be followed. Here are links to these important government websites.
Keep in mind that current requirements can change and become either less or more restrictive at any time.
Even if there is a way to hold an in-person event, not everyone you invite this year will be comfortable attending. However, that doesn't mean they have to be left out!
Virtual Events & Auctions
Virtual events are moving to the forefront of fundraising this year, and many online auction companies have pivoted to provide both your auction services and virtual event support. In addition to processing auction registration, bidding and payment information, these companies can also recommend auction hosts and platforms for presenting your event virtually. We recommend contacting two or more companies to review their complete packages before finalizing your contract.
