Last week was the Republican National Committee's Winter meeting in Amelia Island, Florida. With all the controversy around the election, the Senate races in Georgia and of course the news out of Washington this week it was encouraging to be surrounded by so many committed Republicans. Hard to believe if you listen to the media, but we had a lot of good things happen in November. We cut into Nancy Pelosi's majority in the House of Representatives significantly and elected a historic amount of women to the US Congress! Though we apparently lost those heartbreaking races in Georgia, the Senate is split 50/50. Hardly the massive democrat wave the media was predicting. So with that in mind the Committee held important leadership elections at the Winter Meeting and re-elected the strong leaders that have built the RNC into such a formidable organization.

Congratulations to Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Co-chair Tommy Hicks, Treasurer Ron Kaufman and Secretary Vicki Drummond - all re-elected to new terms. Yours truly will again be serving on the Budget Committee and Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong was re-elected to Vice Chair for the Southern Region.

RNC Members Condemn Violence at U.S. Capitol

WASHINGTON – The members of the Republican National Committee released the following statement:

“The members of the Republican National Committee strongly condemn the violence in and around the United States Capitol Building today in Washington, DC.

These violent scenes we have witnessed do not represent acts of patriotism, but an attack on our country and its founding principles.

Our Founding Fathers established a nation of laws, not a nation of anarchy. We call for all those involved to listen to law enforcement officials and help restore order in our nation’s capital.”
