WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

“Welcome back and Happy New Year” was the recurring phrase I heard all morning. It is such a great place to serve and learn together. From all early indications, we anticipate 2021 being a year that our Lord continues to be exalted at Veritas. There are a number of upcoming announcements that are sure to be a blessing.

We have been considering and discussing a change regarding accreditation for several months and will be sharing more details as they unfold. The change would better reflect who we are as a Classical Christian school.

We have been doing the groundwork for a most edifying course of study for select students within the Veritas community. Look for more news over the next several weeks about Scholé Studio. May the Lord continue to bless us as we seek His will in everything that we do and all that we aspire to be at Veritas.

Peace,
Dr. Woods
FROM THE NURSE'S CORNER

  1. Please remember our Symptom Decision Tree (formerly, ‘symptom guidance’) when screening yourself or your children before they come to school. We have had great success so far this year and we appreciate your part in this during this increase.
  2. Our increased mask mandate from our Governor, Roy Cooper, remains in effect through Friday, January 8. I will continue to update any extensions or changes to this.
  3. We are making a change to our policy regarding COVID-19 communication. If we are made aware of a student or faculty having tested positive, our priority will be to contact all families and faculty directly impacted. School-wide emails will no longer be sent out, as before. However, if at any point you would like to have general knowledge of COVID-19 status in our school, this information will be shared within the current, standard, limits of confidentiality.
  4. Covid-19 vaccinations have begun in our community. Some front-line Veritas parents have shared with me that they have already been vaccinated. I am following NCDHHS on when the vaccination will be made available to teachers/ faculty. The current plan is for education (child care, teachers, support staff) to be part of Phase 1 B.  Currently, we are still in Plan 1A for another week. This vaccination will not be mandated to our staff and is completely optional.
THE ACT OF GRACE CAMPAIGN
We have now raised $491,172.18 -- thanks to our Lord and the generous spirits of the Veritas Community.

Please continue to pray for The Act of Grace!

WITH HONOR AND GRATITUDE TO
THE GOODSON FAMILY

We would like to recognize the many years of servitude and generosity that the Goodson family has given toward Veritas.

We have placed a plaque in the school courtyard, by the Grammar School patio area, in honor of them and as an expression of our gratitude.

Goodson Family -- thank you for your love of Veritas and all you have done and are doing to make our school a great place!
