The COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic has made a significant impact on our entire global economy and specifically the methodology of Public Power Communities way of doing business. In an effort to support and assist our 52 Members we have gathered information and resources that will be helpful to you in making decisions to ensure the safety and health of employees while maintaining a stable business practice.

  • COVID-19 Resources & Information for Georgia Communities. ECG Office of Economic & Community Development remains committed to helping our local community members, businesses, governments, and economic development organizations navigate this uncertain time. The information attached is a list of resources available to communities and actions being taking to benefit Georgians during this health and economic crisis.

  • ESCC Mutual Assistance Pandemic Checklist. ECG represents as a member on the The Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC) COVID-19 Tactical Tiger Team (T3) Mutual Assistance Group. With our input this group has put together a checklist designed to provide host and responding investor-owned electric companies, public power utilities, and electric cooperatives guidance on how to conduct mutual assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • ESCC Resource Guide for Assessing Mitigating the COVID-19 Coronavirus. This document is a resource for electric power industry leaders to guide informed localized decisions in response to the COVID-19 global health emergency. It highlights data points, stakeholders, and options to consider in making decisions about operational status, while protecting the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities.

  • APPA Information on COVID-19. APPA's government relations team is tracking, seeking input, and providing feedback to Capitol Hill on COVID-19-related federal legislation that may affect the public power communities. This includes identifying measures to support lifeline critical infrastructure entities, like electric, gas, and water utilities.

  • Free Live Compliance Webinar Tuesday, March 24th 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. This live webinar regarding benefits related issues & HSA Administration & Compliance will help employers answer questions on how the evolving situation related COVID-19 will impact their benefit plans. Attend this webinar to ensure you did not miss any employee benefits changes.
In addition to the above information, ECG is currently surveying our 52 members on critical information regarding the COVID-19 Coronovirus a nd how it has affected business operations and forced temporary changes within policies and procedures. Once we have collected the information from the survey we will send you the results. The feedback from the survey will be provided to the State Of Georgia, American Public Power Association (APPA) and to our ECG Members to allow you to see what other communities are doing alike.
