Looking for something different to do in July?
A picnic in a Fairfax County Park may be just the safe and low-cost opportunity you were looking for.
If you are not sure where county parks are located, you can check the
park locator web page to find a nearby park. County parks are now open from dawn to dusk and offer differing views throughout the day. With so much open space to choose from, your household can easily maintain a safe social distance from other park visitors.
To have a picnic, all you need is some favorite foods, a blanket, some water and a little imagination
.
Cold sandwiches or a hearty salad, fruits/vegetables, and maybe a dessert are some easy additions. Depending on your household, you may want to include some toys, hats, sunscreen, bug repellent, music and a camera.
After eating may be a good time to toss a ball or Frisbee, explore what the park has to offer, listen to some music, or simply enjoy the silence and beauty of the park. Before leaving, remember to take your trash with you.
Why not enjoy a picnic in a park and create some lasting summer memories.
