March 24, 2020
We are aware of the "Stay At Home" order issued by Greene County and Springfield and will be voted on Wednesday by Christian County.

We have been planning for this in all of our decisions. So, nothing we do should change. If there are any orders that do change how we do things, we will keep you posted.

A more in-depth update on how this impacts Nixa will come out on Wednesday, so be watching for that information.

Dr. Loden took some time to check on the buildings to see how they are preparing for our new normal and would like to update you on the current situation for the district and community and what our next steps are. Please note, we are aware of the lack of social distancing of those in the video and that has been corrected.

The feel-good 💗 story of the day is "Bingo 4 Books" at Mathews Elementary. This annual event is hosted by Mathews' PTA and organized by Mathews' teacher Janicia Volce. The event is designed for students, staff, and families to come together for a fun evening of bingo while promoting 📚reading📚 to our students. We want to give a big thanks to the Mathews' PTA 👏 for purchasing the books and to Ms. Volce for organizing the event!

Artist of the Week - Kylie St. John
Kylie St. John is this week's Artist of the Week. Kylie has been in the visual arts program since her freshman year. She has been in ceramics club for three years and National Art Honor Society for two years.

What if I need assistance in areas?
There are a lot of options out there for you when it comes to assistance.
We will consistently update and maintain the www.nixapublicschools.net/covid19 website with Family Resources and direct links for assistance.
How can I support local businesses?
There are plenty of Nixa restaurants that are still open just under restrictions.

The Nixa Chamber of Commerce has put together a Facebook page that highlights our local restaurants that are still available for curbside, delivery, and carryout. Visit their page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nixashoppinganddining

Even though NIXPO has been postponed to August, you can still get a sneak peek of which businesses are attending and what services they have to provide. Find the Nixa Chamber of Commerce on Facebook for their event, via Zoom, on April 3.
Resources For Local Businesses
If you are a local business that could benefit from a collective mindset to keep your business in the forefront, the Nixa Chamber of Commerce will hold weekly mastermind meetings via Zoom for you. See the details here.

Show Me Christian County will hold a virtual meeting March 24 at 9 a.m. to help answer questions for local businesses facing difficult decisions due to COVID-19. More information can be found on their Facebook event page .
