The message below, from Southern CEF Director, Rev. Stephen Linck, is being sent to active pastors, congregational presidents, congregational treasurers, and school administrators of the Southern District.
Southern District CEF is aware that the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has resulted in some
unanticipated financial hardships for several congregations and other ministry
partners in the Southern District. This is particularly true as many churches have
been forced to livestream their Sunday services which impacts the normal giving
patterns of its members.
First
, if you have a loan with us already, we are able to either accept interest only payments
for 90 days or suspend payments for 60 days. Interest still accumulates. PLEASE let us know on or
before March 30

If we do not hear from you your automatic
loan payment will be pulled.
Second
, CEF is here to help. Due to this unprecedented crisis, for a limited time, CEF is
offering a reduced rate emergency loan
to help churches, schools and RSOs meet cash f
low and other operational needs that have been negatively impacted as a result of
the COVID-19 outbreak. Must apply for this loan during the National Emergency Period or June 1
st
, whichever is earlier.
This special emergency loan is for $49,999.00 and will carry a reduced rate of 4%; this is 1% below our
regular interest rate. If you don't need this help, please do not use it simply for convenience.
This loan will require only a monthly interest payment during the
first six months of the term. It would be amortized over a three year period and non-renewable.
It is not a line of credit but a onetime draw loan for this emergency only.
