2020 MINISTER'S SENIORS SERVICE AWARDS

We all know someone who has stepped up to support seniors. They are present in our organizations, communities, workplaces and families. The 2020 Minister's Seniors Service Awards provides an opportunity to recognize these caring individuals.
Award recipients will be honoured at an awards ceremony in the fall. Nomination forms and additional information are available at

Service Provider Guide Understanding Caregivers: Short guide that explores caregiver stress, burnout and elder abuse and provides practical tips to support caregivers in your practice. Developed by the Government of Alberta in partnership with Caregivers Alberta.
Discovery Toolkit - Supporting Family Caregivers of Seniors: The toolkit contains tools for learning and discussion: summaries, slide presentations, handouts and suggested resources. The tools are based on the proceedings and products of a conference entitled
Supporting Family Caregivers of Seniors: Improving Care and Caregiver Outcomes that was held in April 2014.

Government of Alberta
The
Affordable Housing Review Panel has been appointed to review Alberta's affordable housing system. This review will explore ways to make affordable housing even more affordable and accessible for people with low incomes. The panel's recommendations will be used to transform how Alberta's affordable housing system is delivered so it is financially sustainable and able to address growing demand.
Share your thoughts and suggestions on affordable housing by August 31. These submissions will be reviewed by the panel and will help inform its work.

GUARDIANSHIP AND TRUSTEESHIP RELATED SERVICES SURVEY
Sage Seniors Association
For over 35 years, Sage has provided guidance for people applying for guardianship or trusteeship of an adult in their life who no longer has the capacity to make decisions on their own.
Sage is trying to determine if there may be a need to expand the program to include additional related services, and is seeking input from older adults and caregivers on what services are needed most in Edmonton. Your ideas are important and will be used to help Sage determine how to best help seniors meet their financial and personal needs and to lower the risk of elder abuse situations.
The
survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and does not ask for your name.
