Dear All Saints Family,
Like all of you, we, your clergy, were broken-hearted and deeply grieved by the acts of violence and lawlessness which took place in and around the U.S. Capitol this past week. It seems that the ending of 2020 alone was not enough to end the turmoil we have had. And yet, as horrific as those events were, our faith and hope in Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords remains unshaken. God has not abandoned His people, and His assurance that He can and will work all things together for good stands firm. Therefore, in the midst of these difficult, tumultuous, and divisive days, let us renew our commitment to our Lord, for He alone can bring reconciliation and healing. Let us pray for our country, our leaders, and all affected by division and violence. Let us pray that God would use us all by the inspiration of His Holy Spirit to bring peace, humility, hope, and joy to this great land. And in all things, let us love the Lord our God with all that we are and love others the way Christ has loved us. Such is a difficult calling, and there is much to process as we reflect on this past week. Please know that as your priests, we love each and every one of you deeply, and we want to encourage and bless you. If we can serve you in any way at this time, simply let us know, and we would be glad to listen and talk. Until then, may God fill you with His grace and peace.
In the love of Christ,
