Our Do's and Don'ts for Tax Season
PLEASE DO:
Use your Client Portal to complete the 2020 Organizer and/or Questionnaire for 1040s, sign Action forms, and securely upload documents to us using File Exchange.
Sign and return the 2020 Engagement Letter for 1040s!
Upload multiple filesat once to make it easier for all of us - we are notified by email of each upload.
Send all documents to us at the same time, if possible, so we can be more efficient.
If you send documents through the mail, make sure they are trackable.
Feel free to stop by the office with your mask on - we're open! Make an appointment if you'd like to see your Tax Manager.
Visit our website for guides, news, and deadlines.
PLEASE DON'T:
Send photos of documents unless you use an app to convert them to PDF files - there are many available apps, such as Microsoft Office Lens, PDFelement, Evernote Scannable, Scanner Pro, etc.
Send multiple, separate PDF files - you can combine them into one and we can organize the pages as needed.
Email sensitive information without encryption or password-protection - it is NOT secure.
Use staples on your documents - we have to remove them to scan.
Send duplicate information or combine personal and business transactions - we will have to spend extra time sorting, and that means higher fees.
