Did you ever wonder what our Outreach ministry does? I hope to be able to answer that question for you. We do so many things! Most people are aware of the biggest component to the Outreach which is the Food Pantry that is held from January-October on Thursdays from 11:30am-1:15pm. In November and December, we host a one-day Saturday event for the Food Pantry. Our clients can come and enjoy some refreshments and food and pick up their food. Also, at the Food giveaway in December they can pick up their Christmas presents. During our weekly Food Pantry clients arrive, sign in and can relax while waiting to be interviewed. After they are interviewed one of our personal shoppers will call their name and assist them with choosing the items that are most beneficial for them and their families. We supply a 5 day meal plan for each household. The food and miscellaneous items that are on our shelves come from all of your generous donations and from us purchasing these items through the Food Bank and local grocery stores, for example Wegmans, Price Chopper and the Dollar Tree. We also have clothes for our clients in all sizes for Women, Men, and Children that have been donated mostly by Parishioners like all of you that they can sort through each week. We are lucky enough to have 15 weekly volunteers that help us provide this service to the clients of our local Food Pantry. Another part of our Outreach program is making sandwiches twice a month for the Oxford Inn. The Oxford Inn is a men’s shelter that is operated by Catholic Charities. We also donate food items such as applesauce to help give the men at the Oxford Inn a full meal. Our Outreach Program is so successful because of our volunteers and donations from our Parish. Today’s second collection will be for the Parish Outreach (the pink envelopes).
We appreciate any donations that you are able to give. We would not be able to have a Food Pantry if we didn’t have our weekly volunteers and our volunteers at our Food Giveaways in November and December. We want to THANK YOU for everything you do! Again, I cannot stress enough that we would not be here if it was not for all of you. We thank you again for your time and donations. Everything all of you do help us provide for those who are less fortunate in our local community. I hope this helps all of you to understand what the Outreach ministry does!
God Bless, Janice Corcoran, Blessed Sacrament Parish Outreach

The Church’s Response to Coronavirus
Holy Mass attendance is not obligatory for those who are ill. Those who are ill not only can but should remain home and participate if able by watching a broadcast of the Holy Mass on TV or You Tube.
Those at Mass who are concerned they may be getting ill should refrain from extending hands and offer an alternate sign of peace: a smile, nod of head, etc.
Blessed Sacrament and St. Vincent’s are now suspending the distribution of the Precious Blood from the chalice. It is important to remember that the whole Christ is truly present (body, blood, soul, and divinity) under each of the species of bread and wine (CCC,1390).
Let’s join in solidarity and prayer for those impacted or working to treat those infected by the disease.

Recognition of the Sisters of St. Joseph
The Church celebrates the feast of St. Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and foster father of Jesus. The Blessed Sacrament Church community was most fortunate and honored to have, since 1931, the presence of a countless number of sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet teaching in our parish school. These women followed Joseph’s example of faith, trust, and obedience in carrying out their mission in serving our children and others. Though their presence is no longer seen in the school, the sisters are still actively involved in ministries in service to God and sharing his Word, love, compassion, and mercy each and every day.
