THRIVENT SPONSORS THIRD HFHWM HOME
In March 2021, we broke ground on the future home of Yvonne Anderson in the Willow Crest neighborhood in Fairview, TN, continuing our incredible partnership with Thrivent Financial. Thrivent fully funded the construction of the home, and this is our third build with the holistic financial services organization.

From the beginning of the Thrivent and Habitat partnership in 2005, Thrivent and its members have now contributed more than $240 million and more than 5.5 million volunteer hours across the U.S. and around the world. This has resulted in thousands of families and individuals obtaining strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, as well as strengthening hundreds of communities.

Over the next few months, we will be posting updates from the build on our social media, using the hashtag #ThriventThursdays. To learn more about Thrivent's commitment to affordable housing, click here.

HFHWM WELCOMES NEW VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Lexi Bolinski grew up in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania (cue “The Office” theme song!) and spent most of her days exploring the lush green forests surrounding her home, taking photos of wildlife, and picking up refuse along hiking trails. When she wasn’t out getting her hands dirty, she was inside strumming her guitar and writing lyrics about the things in life that inspired her.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in mass communications of visual design & broadcasting, she decided to make the big move to Music City in 2017 to explore her love of music and begin the next chapter of her life. It was here in Tennessee that Lexi discovered her love for non-profits and giving back to her community.

She was accepted as an AmeriCorps service member at Hands On Nashville serving a year as their corporate engagement volunteer coordinator. During this year, she experienced volunteerism unlike anything she has ever seen, especially during the 2020 Nashville tornados and COVID pandemic, and has since been working to be as active in her community as the incredible individuals she has met here in Tennessee. In her new role here at HFHWM, she is very excited to be part of the Habitat mission and to serve the Williamson and Maury County communities!
HAMMERS & HIGH HEELS GOES VIRTUAL

Sign up for the Online Silent Auction and receive notice when bidding opens on May 10. Anyone can bid from anywhere!

Our 2021 Women Build will be smaller this year with limited volunteer opportunities in light of the pandemic, but what won’t change will be the need to raise $70,000 to pay for the home’s “bricks and sticks” through our Hammers & High Heels fundraiser!

Though we will all miss celebrating together in-person this year, we hope you will “attend” virtually with us to support Searria Peoples' future home from the comfort of your home – whether you are in your PJs or stilettos! Visit womenbuildtn.com to learn all about the event!

Click here to join this year's Facebook Event where we will be posting silent auction items and important event updates!

We want to thank our sponsors Jackson National Life Insurance Company, First Farmers Bank & Trust, Schneider Electric, Fifth Third Bank, HCA, Pinnacle Bank, and SunTrust Now Truist Bank for their generous support.

THE BIG PAYBACK IS COMING!
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee's The Big Payback is a 24-hour, online giving event created to increase philanthropy in the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee. The goal is simple - inspire Middle Tennesseans to come together, show their pride in their communities, and contribute to support the life-changing work of local nonprofit organizations. Since 2014, we have cumulatively raised nearly $21 million for charities working hard to make a difference.

We are excited to be part of this year's #BigPayback and hope you will support us with a donation - every amount helps! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help build homes in the fall! Hope you will join us virtually on May 5. https://www.thebigpayback.org/hfhwm
