FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund
Philanthropic leaders launch the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund with $285,000 in lead gifts utilizing Erie Gives during a time of crisis.

By utilizing the established Erie Gives website model, donors are welcome to partake in the movement by giving to the fund and helping our neighbors.   

The COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund will support 501(C)(3) nonprofits that:
  1. Provide food to those in need
  2. Administer care for our children
  3. Serve the elderly, who are the most vulnerable population to COVID-19
  4. Help those suffering from hardships and job loss due to COVID-19

Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA) COVID-19 Response Fund
This fund includes one new grant program and two new loan programs.

  • Immediate Human Relief Fund
  • Civic Institution Deferred Income Loan Program
  • Small Business Loan Fund

The Immediate Human Relief Fund has four funding categories:
  • Food security and emergency food distribution
  • Homeless shelters
  • Child care
  • Elder care

Funds can be used for additional staff time and/or personnel required during this emergency, supplies, messaging and communications, professional consultants, contracted services, food and personal care items, and transportation.

There will be no required match for this grant program.

Applicants must be either 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations, municipalities, or municipal authorities.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. There is no deadline to apply.

Grants will be reviewed and approved after a phone conference with ECGRA staff. Payments will be made within 2 days of a favorable decision.

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans - Nonprofit Component
The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to private nonprofits suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). 

  • Nonprofit interest rate: 2.75%
  • Funding available: up to $2 million

Erie Arts & Culture: Emergency Financial Assistance Fund
Through this fund, creative and cultural professionals, which includes artists of all disciplines, who have experienced a disruption to their income stream can request up to $500 in assistance from Erie Arts & Culture.
Awarded funds can be used to assist with basic living expenses, such as housing, utilities, or groceries.
