Often times in life, we don't know how the Lord plans to use our current circumstances for His greater plan .  As many of us are doing our part to win the war against Covid-19 by social distancing, the Lord is actually working to bring our nation and the entire world together.  The polarizing rhetoric that had been pulling our society apart has now been replaced with countless acts of self-sacrifice and kindness.  We are one people working for all humanity, not a divided disparate set of cultures.   

 

The same sense of unknown is present every time that we step out on a mission trip, or faith building adventure.  Though we may not know why God has called us to step out of our comfort zone, we know that we must answer and trust in His greater plan.  An exciting example of this is TBG's journeys to the Holy Land of Israel.  On our trips our partners see the Bible come to life through the amazing sites, and also experience first-hand the evangelical work that the Lord is doing with the Jewish and Muslim populations residing in His Holy Land.

 

For the past three trips TBG has chosen the President of Uncharted Ministries, Tom Doyle, to lead our groups.  Uncharted Ministries is taking the Gospel to the least reached among Jews and Muslims.  While the media is obsessed with headline-grabbing bad news from the Middle East, Uncharted Ministries remains focused on the eternal story.  The truth behind the headlines is that more Muslims have come to faith in Christ in the last decade than in the last 14 centuries!  More Jews have come to embrace Jesus as Messiah in the last two decades than in the last 2,000 years.

The following story is bursting with heartwarming inspiration, as Tom Doyle takes us back to TBG's last trip to Israel: 

 

"A little over a year ago, we took TBG to Israel.  It's always a joy to take TBG because they bring leaders who have a heart for God's work.  They learn this in the Master's Program led by Bob Shank, and they get to put it into practice through TBG led by Jim West.   

 

It was on a TBG Israel trip that we first met TBG partners Jeff and Heather Gerhardt!  During a conversation it was mentioned that there was a need for a van to transport Holocaust survivors around the city, especially in the South of Israel .  A couple of TBG folks simply said, "we'll take care of the van."     

 

Well, here it is!  A brand new Hyundai van is just off the ship in Tel-Aviv.  Thank you, Lord, for providing a place for the Holocaust survivors to meet in Sderot (Southern Israel), and now a van for them to use.  We pray for even more of their hearts to turn to our amazing Messiah as their personal Savior.
