In a world where facts matter, learn about the science of climate change from Fishers Island seasonal resident, Peter Raymond.
This talk will cover the history of climate change science and how modern day greenhouse gas concentrations are maintained. Pete is a professor of ecosystem Ecology at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies where he studies greenhouse gas exchange between ecosystems and the atmosphere and teaches The Physical Science of Climate Change.

inside
New London Harbor
Lighthouse.
The visit takes around 45 minutes.
Everyone uses
hand sanitizer
and
we all wear masks
.
We meet at the lighthouse, then climb 116 steps to the lantern room -- all the while learning about the 260-year history of Harbor Light, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country.
Tours for
two people at a time,
or one small Covid pod, may be arranged by emailing

Suggested donations are $35 for adults, $30 for NLMS members, & $25 for youth 7-to 18 years old.

Master plasterer John Marshall
finished plaster repairs to the Customs office ceiling and walls on Friday. He will complete the painting early this week.
The question now is whether to continue with plaster repairs and repainting in the hallway...
Work begins on the roof 'fix' in another week.

The Old Town Mill originally built in 1650 by John Winthrop Jr., the founder of New London and later the Governor of Connecticut. Listed on the National Historic Register, the Mill is one of the oldest industrial sites in Connecticut. On September 6, 1781, General Benedict Arnold burned the mill down during his raid on New London. The mill was rebuilt soon after on the original site.
Everyone's favorite, the

will be back in New London for the 11th summer on
Sunday, August 16,
with
three
free
performances
on Parade Plaza.
The City of New London is presenting the circus & NL Maritime Society, again, is its proud co-sponsor.
