Eagles in Action
Fourth Grade Eagles in Action
For the month of January, Fourth Grade has chosen to support BEDS Plus as their Eagles in Action project. The mission of BEDS Plus Care is to help vulnerable individuals stabilize their lives through housing and supportive services. Their vision is to end homelessness. They believe that everyone deserves a home.
We will be making and delivering over 70 bag lunches for their current residents. In addition to monetary offerings to support this project, we will be collecting the following items:
  • Kraft Mac and Cheese microwaveable cups
  • creamy peanut butter
  • individual packets of Instant Oatmeal
  • individual size Cheez-It crackers
  • sandwich, quart and gallon size Ziploc bags.
Fourth Grade thanks you for your support!

Thanks to all of you who have given to the 6th Grade Eagles in Action Food Pantry Advent Calendar. You helped feed many families in our surrounding communities.

REMOTE LEARNING POLICIES REMINDER
As a reminder, the remote learning option is only for students who are required to stay home due to quarantine, as approved by the teacher(s) and Mrs. Mannes. Remote learning is not available without advanced notice and approval, or for unexcused absences.
KEEP US INFORMED SO WE CAN KEEP EVERYONE SAFE!!!
If your student is going to be tested for COVID, you must notify the school immediately. Do not wait for the results or for the next school day to let us know. Email the school office: school@stjohnslagrange.org
and if it's the weekend, email Mrs. Mannes: t.mannes@stjohnslagrange.org
Guidelines for Keeping Students Home
As a reminder, we are required to follow IDPH and ISBE regulations in order to remain open for in-person instruction.

If your student has ANY of the following symptoms, your student and all siblings must stay home from school:
  • fever (100.4 or higher)
  • new onset of moderate to severe headache
  • shortness of breath
  • new cough
  • sore throat
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • abdominal pain from unknown cause
  • new congestion/runny nose
  • new loss of sense of taste or smell
  • nausea
  • fatigue from unknown cause
  • muscle or body aches

Your student may return to school after receiving a negative COVID test or receiving an alternative diagnosis from a doctor. Asymptomatic siblings may also return at this time.
If you do not obtain either a negative COVID test or alternative diagnosis, your student, and siblings, must stay home for 10 days from onset of symptoms AND have been symptom free for 24 hours.

Thank you for continuing to be vigilant as we navigate this school year together!
