Camarillo, California – Camarillo City Hall will close to walk-in traffic, effective Monday, December 14. City services will be available online and over the phone, only.
The closure will remain in effect until further notice and will be reevaluated on a regular and as-needed basis in order to timely respond to rapidly changing conditions and ensure consistency with State and County directives. There will be no interruption of police, fire, water, sewer, transit or trash and recycling services, during this time.
“Our City employees continue to be vigilant, responding to new circumstances, getting information to the community, and ensuring the protection of our community’s health and safety,” explained City Manager Greg Ramirez. “This is not ideal; but given the direction that the COVID numbers are going, we feel this is the safest thing to do right now in order to avoid any unintended consequences.”
Many services are available online or via phone. There may be some instances of prolonged wait times on permits and other document requests due to modified staffing configurations; however every effort will be made to continue to process permits and documents timely and efficiently. The Camarillo City Council meetings will continue to be conducted virtually via Zoom and the City Hall Council Chambers remain closed to the public. Although there will be no physical location to attend the meetings, there are a variety of ways the public is encouraged to view and participate in City Council meetings, including joining the meeting via Zoom, livestreaming the meeting from the City’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/thecityofcamarillo/live), or viewing the meeting on the City’s Local Government Channels (Spectrum Channel 10 and Frontier Channel 29). Public comment options may be submitted in writing, or verbally during a meeting. Detailed instructions for submitting comments are included on the meeting agendas.
