Community partners across the state are working around the clock to make sure vulnerable Californians are getting the food they need
as schools, senior centers, and businesses take necessary precautions to limit the spread of coronavirus. Our federal nutrition programs have contingencies built into them to support their response and recovery efforts, but despite these flexibilities, community partners are finding it difficult to meet community needs.

State Legislative Update
Hearing postponements and cancellations
Due to the statewide response to the coronavirus, the California Senate has cancelled all hearings the week of March 16th, including budget and policy committee hearings. On the Assembly side, Speaker Anthony Rendon has left the decision to cancel or postpone committee hearings to the discretion of the Chairs. The Assembly Budget Committee hearings have been postponed, but some policy committees are still scheduled.
