Charles “Chuck” Szovati is a Senior Manager, Engineering, within the Track Design and Layout group with AMTRAK, based in 30th Street Station, Philadelphia.

Chuck was hired by AMTRAK in 2010 to manage the in-house and contracted track surveyors across the AMTRAK system.

He has managed and participated in field surveying, layout and railroad accident/incident investigations.

Chuck currently manages the Track Design team, supporting the companies various engineering, production and stations disciplines.

Prior to joining AMTRAK in 2010, he was a principal owner of Millennium Surveying and Longitude Surveying & Mapping based in Southern New Jersey.

Chuck currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware with his four-legged administrative assistant, “Rambo”. Chuck is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.

Thomas Davis works within CPRS TAM (Track Asset Management) Group for field data collection. The TAM Group is part CPRS ENG technology with cross-functional work to CPRS GIS group.

Thomas was hired by CPRS in 2019 to drive, lead and assist with best survey field practices for data collection, and data processing. Thomas has been involved with field surveying work conception to delivery for 20 years and has lead teams, crews and projects in field surveying.

Thomas is an operator of CPRS LiDAR truck. He spends his days split hyrailling CPRS US network for field data collection, data processing for downstream users, and coordinating on-property project contactors safety, access and duties.

Thomas spent 12 years working for Class 1 A/E/C firms in Michigan, Florida and Illinois. Through those years he worked from Rodman to Project Manager, while attending Michigan Technological University earning a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying and Illinois Land Surveyor in Training. Currently Thomas is preparing for his Illinois Professional Land Surveyors examination.

Thomas stays in Chicago, Illinois enjoying Chicago Cubs games when possible with his family and his volunteer work at a youth ice hockey club; for which his son plays and enjoys being a goalie.

Kari Gonzales is the VP Business Services and CFO at Transportation Technology Center, Inc (TTCI) in Pueblo, Colorado.

She has been a part of TTCI’s organization for nearly 18 years.

Kari started as an intern in 2000 and was hired full-time after completing her degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in December of 2002.

During her time as a research engineer, Kari contributed a set of work that resulted in authoring/co-Authoring of over 25 technical publications, including articles in Railway Age, Railway Track and Structures (RT&S), and the Journal of Wear.

In her current role, Kari is responsible for both the company-wide strategic planning and many of the business functions associated with the day-to-day operations for TTCI such as contracts, procurement, publications, proposals, acquisitions and joint ventures.
