Hello, library friends --
Thanks for all your emails this week - I enjoy hearing from you and hearing your ideas for new things at the library. Keep 'em coming!
Here's a quick reminder of a few upcoming things here at the library. I hope to see you soon, either in person or online at one of our events.
Take care,
Teresa Schmidt

Information Literacy class available online
Information Literacy: critical thinking and practical skills is a 4-week class being taught by your librarian for Fe University. If you are interested in the topic but aren't able to attend the class in real time, we'll be posting the course content on the Mercer Library website for anyone to use on their own time.
Check it out on our website to learn more about misinformation, disinformation, and how to educate yourself to be a smarter information user online and in the real world.

The Library is OPEN
We have resumed our regular fall hours, including Saturdays. Fall library hours are:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday & Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We're happy to provide curbside service or make other accommodations if you can't come inside. Call us at 715-476-2366 or email director@mercerpubliclibrary.org. We can find library books, movies, games, puzzles, and other materials; answer reference questions; and help provide copy, fax, notary, and printing services.
Another option is to use the Merlin online catalog to request your items in advance. Give us a day or so to process your request, and then we'll have them ready for you at the front desk or to pickup by curbside.
For those who are homebound for medical reasons or lack transportation, our library system also offers a Mail-a-Book program. Sign up and you can receive library materials delivered right to your doorstep. Materials can be returned by mail (you pay the postage) or dropped off at our library or many other libraries in the area. Visit the Northern Waters website for more information, or give us a call and we can help you register for the service.

Did you know?
Some of the more popular services at the library are what I think of as office services:
-
Copies and printing: 10¢ per page black & white; 25¢ color
-
Nonprofit & community organization copies: 5¢ black & white; 10¢ color
-
Faxing: $1 for the first page, 50¢ for each additional page up to $5 maximum
-
Laminating: $1 per page
-
Scanning to email: No charge
-
Notary service: No charge - appointments suggested, walk-ins welcome.
-
Printing is available from our computers, from PDF files on a flash drive, and directly from some laptops and mobile devices.
Need a paper cutter, three-hole punch, high-capacity stapler, or even a shape cutter like the Silhouette Cameo? We can help with that, too!
