WETATi STEM- E-Sports
In partnership with University Recreation and Wellness, Information Technology & E-Sports, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, WETATi is bringing the world of E-Sports and STEMpreneurship to students.
Students will work with experts to learn how to turn their love of video-gaming into a profitable career. They will work as teams with a gaming coach, and finish the unit by putting on a tournament event, from involving partners to competing! Student (STEMPreneurs) will learn how to navigate the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based ecosystem of E-Sports.
Students will map the relationship between games, players, teams, fans, leagues, organizers, investors and multimedia. Students will learn about gaming related careers, hardware, shoutcasting, extended reality broadcasting and event production. Students will develop experiential knowledge through practical exercises and coaching.
