Thank You!
On October 24, we held our Annual Celebration event at the downtown Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson. MHAS Executive Director Jim Preis and Board President Francis Ryu presented our Advocates Awards to the Koreatown Youth & Community Center an Dr. Mark Ragins of MHA Village. Another highlight of the evening was a video by MHAS Board member Doug Hall telling the moving story of one of our clients. Guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres complemented by wines donated by Woodenhead Vintners, and everyone took home sweet treats from the Village Cookie Shoppe.
Congratulations again to our honorees, and thank you to all who sponsored, attended and volunteered to make the event a tremendous success.

On November 5, MHAS launched BeHeLP, an innovative new Behavioral Health-Legal Partnership. In collaboration with Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services, MHAS Equal Justice Works Fellow Eliza Schafler will provide holistic legal services to low-income and immigrant families who have children with mental illness. MHAS is proud to join the growing medical-legal partnership movement and show that legal assistance is a crucial tool for improving mental health outcomes.
Eliza Schafler's Equal Justice Works fellowship is sponsored by Greenberg Traurig LLP.
