COVID VACCINE AND ASCs
Below find the NJDOH COVID Vaccine newsletter, as well as some questions and answers about distribution and inoculation for ASCs.

Q: Should ASCs register as a pod to become distribution sites for the vaccine?

A: The ASCs wouldn't register because they would need to be enrolled in the NJ immunization registry and they would also need ultra-cold chain or cold chain capacity. I'm not sure that any ASC is registered right? healthcare workers (in any setting) are part of 1a and there will be open and closed pods for them to receive their vaccines. please share the information below with all your members and thanks!

As part of the efforts of the Public Confidence work group, the NJDOH Office of Communications has created “Vax Matters.”

The New Jersey Department of Health is sharing updates on the state’s COVID-19 vaccination planning through a weekly newsletter.

Q: 1a that you mention about healthcare workers being given the vaccine-including ASC employees, will we have to, or should we register for that now?

A: once the pods are announced and a registration process for the vaccine recipient is put in place, we will share who, when, where and how to get vaccinated.
