Legislative leaders issued a statement late Sunday evening indicating the Minnesota Legislature will continue its work, but by alternate means. Committees and and floor sessions will be on an on-call basis through April 14.

In Review
Governor Walz introduced the supplemental budget last week. After replenishing the budget reserve with $491 million, the Governor prioritizes emergency response and critical preparedness needs across Minnesota.
Of note to school districts, Walz's bill provides mental health funding to enable school districts to hire additional licensed mental health and support professionals.

On Sunday, Governor Walz issued an Executive Order (20-02) closing all K-12 schools through March 27. The closures will allow districts to plan for continuity of education during the COVID-19 pandemic for the purpose of preserving the health, safety, and lives of Minnesota's students, educators, and the broader public. On Sunday evening, the Department of Education released a FAQ on the the school closures. For more detailed information, please visit www.mnmsba.org
