ORDER OF WORSHIP
Gathering and Centering Ourselves for Worship
Welcome & Announcements
Prelude
Meditation - Antônio Carlos Jobim
Call to Worship
Psalm 133
One:
How good and pleasant it is when
kindred live together in unity!
Many:
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down the beard of Aaron,
running down over the collar of his robes.
One:
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion.
Many:
For there the Lord ordained his blessing,
life forevermore.
Hymn of Praise
Christ Is Risen! Shout Hosanna!
HYMN TO JOY

Litany of Affirmation
-adapted from Stages on the Way, Wild Goose Worship Group, Iona Community, Scotland
One:
Our words echo the praise of the angels as you, O Christ,
rise above the limitations of time and space to be present with God.
Many:
Blessing and honor and glory and power to you, O Christ!
One:
No longer restricted to one place you are present in all places with all peoples.
Many:
We praise you, Lord, and give thanks that there is now with God
one who understands us and intercedes for us.
One:
Though we cannot ascend to where you are, you are with us always,
raising our hopes and filling our hearts with your love and grace.
Many:
Make our lives, O Christ, signs and promises of the new and abundant life you give to the world.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
(in unison)
Gracious God: you forged your church in the fire of the Spirit, and breathed life into your people that we might become the Body of Christ. You sent Christ into the world bringing forgiveness for our sin and delivering us beyond the grave of death to new life. Baptize us again with the flame of faith, fill us with the breath of ministry, and send us forth into the world in the compassion and peace of Jesus Christ. Take us, O God, and shape us according to your will in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
