A Note from Headmaster Philabaum
Greetings families,
I hope this email finds you well. As we often state, our daily commitment is to labor alongside you to transform the hearts and minds of our scholars. We do this by the daily modeling of our faculty in and through the elevation and exploration of the great works that we are privileged to teach. Every subject speaks to a different part of the human soul, and we ourselves become moved by our engagement with these works.
As faculty, we annually read through great works of literature and thought provoking articles together in order to continue our own pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. This year, Archway Trivium East would like to invite you to participate in this exploration as well. During the second semester, we will be offering seminars made available specifically to you as parents. I have created an interest list to determine what sort of books or works you may be like to read and discuss together. For example, our faculty is reading The Great Gatsby together this year, and I would love to lead a seminar series on this great American classic! If something like this interests you, please take a moment to fill out the form below. There is also space for you to share your ideas and requests on what we can do to learn together as a community. Please know this is not a commitment, but this will allow us to see what sorts of seminars and events our community would like to be a part of. If possible, we would love for you to complete the attached form by the end of next week so we can begin planning out the remainder of the semester.

Important Reminders for Student Drop-off/Pick-up
Parents, as a reminder, at this time there is NO student walk-up for drop-off or pick-up at any entrance.
Parents will need to have their pick-up cards in order to be scanned at pick-up. If you do not have a pick-up card, please email strujillo@archwaytriviumeast.org.
Please review these slides in coordination with the Traffic Flow Procedures in our Family Handbook for information on how to navigate drop-off and pick-up next week. If you have questions about the drop-off and pick-up procedure, please reach out to the Front Office.

Academy Giving - Cumulative Giving Receipts for 2020 Tax Year
Cumulative year-end giving receipts for 2020 will be emailed by midnight on January 26. Please check all email accounts/junk folders. If you do not receive a receipt, or have questions, please contact Stefany Dean, our Academy Giving Manager, at sdean@archwaytriviumeast.org. This is the last year that cumulative receipts will be issued to donors, so please save your 2021 tax receipts as they are issued.

Monthly PSO Nights at Papa Murphy's Pizza - Wednesday, February 3
Our PSO is joining with Archway Trivium West and Trivium Prep for PIZZA NIGHT at Papa Murphy's every first Wednesday of the month from 10am-8pm at the Dysart location in Avondale. $3 from each regularly priced pizza will be donated back to the schools. WOW! Remaining dates for the year are: February 3, March 3, April 7, and May 5. You can order ahead online, in-person, or by phone. Just make sure you show this ad when you arrive to pick up your order.

Trivium Spirit Day - February 5
Our next Trivium-wide Spirit Day is the half day, Friday, February 5! For Trivium Spirit day, ATE students are encouraged to wear one of the following: Athenian Spirit Wear, a Class t-shirt, an Athenians Sports t-shirt, a Run the Virtues 5K t-shirt or a Trivium Prep spirit wear shirt. This is optional and a uniform shirt may always be worn. All other uniform components should be worn according to our dress code (uniform bottoms with belt, shirt tucked in, and uniform shoes) on this day. Show your school spirit!

The copy room sign up for January-April is now available! This year we will be helping our amazing teachers and staff make copies on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you're interested in volunteering please sign up using the link below. All volunteers must be cleared through the Raptor system to volunteer.

Register Now for the 5th Annual Trivium "Run the Virtues" Fun Run!
We are excited to announce that our annual Trivium "Run the Virtues" race is going VIRTUAL this year! Save the date for Saturday, February 27 and register today! This yearly family fitness event sponsored by our PSOs is a great way to build community among the three Trivium schools. While it may look a little different, we know it will be a great event! There are options for a 5K race or 1-mile fun run.

New! Quarter 3 Lunch Volunteer Sign-up Now Available
If you would like to volunteer to help distribute lunches, please sign-up online using the link below. Volunteers must have completed the 2020-21 volunteer background check process and follow all campus health and safety procedures. We will be awarding a $5 a day/per person credit to each school. Great Hearts Summer Programs at Archway Trivium East

Registration for Summer Camp 2021 begins February 17, 2021
Great Hearts is excited to announce our 2021 Summer Programs! Our full-day summer camp is an experience for current and waitlisted students grades K-5th grade that is reminiscent of traditional camps from our childhood with the same quality you have come to expect from Great Hearts. Each week, scholars will experience hands-on, engaging activities in fine arts, reading, writing, crafts, science, math, and history – all designed to inspire creativity and keep skills sharp over the summer. Each Camp also offers weekly guest presenters, camp songs, and games while fostering lasting friendships.
Kinder Academy is designed to acclimate incoming Kindergarten students to the Archway Schools, Great Hearts curriculum, and the academy teachers. Each week scholars will be taken on an adventure to practice the skills needed in Kindergarten.
