Historical Tidbit:

Carriage Manufacturing in East Bridgewater

The manufacture of carriages was one of the principal industrial enterprises in East Bridgewater. It started in the early 1800s and lasted over 50 years.
Captain Nathaniel Cross from New Hampshire settled here early in the century and erected several shops on his own. Eventually there were woodworking, carriage painting & trimming, harness trade and blacksmith work all near the center of town.

East Bridgewater: "for all of your carriage needs."

Hands-Free While Driving Law is in Effect!
Police departments will be out in force to ensure residents are sticking to the rules.

You can only use electronic devices and mobile phones in hands-free mode, you are not permitted to hold or support any electronic device/phone, you cannot touch device for texting, emailing, apps, video, or internet use, activation of GPS navigation is permitted when the device is installed or properly mounted. Any handheld use is only allowed if the vehicle is both stationary and not located in a public travel lane but is not allowed at red lights or stop signs.

A good rule of thumb is, if you can put your vehicle in park in a safe place, you can use your phone but otherwise, hands-off. If you are under 18 you cannot use ANY electronic device. All phone use while driving is illegal, including the use of hands-free mode, so talk to your teen about this one specifically. The fines and penalties will be high. For more information, check Mass.Gov Please be safe on the roads and just put the phones away.

Equilibrium & Balance:
A worthy quest for our lives... not just balance between work and family, but in meeting all of our physical and spiritual needs. To work and provide for a home & clothing, be challenged intellectually, have companions who understand and encourage us, as well as those that make us think differently; to exercise and eat nourishing food which will allow our bodies to function better and to laugh and be hugged and touched.
Meeting these needs is a necessity, allowing us to function better in all of our relationships, our families and in community.

"Democracy is the only system capable of reflecting the humanist premise of equilibrium or balance. The key to its secret is the involvement of the citizen."
~ John Ralston Saul

"Moral Education is the source of that spiritual equilibrium on which everything else depends and which may be compared to that physical equilibrium or sense of balance, without which it is impossible to stand upright or to move into any other position." ~ Maria Montessori

"The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner." ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

"It's a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy." ~ Lucille Ball
Have a wonderful week, Dear Reader. You are worthy of a balanced life. Sending hugs.
~ Jacquie
