“Cultivating Kindness, Relationships, and Growth for all.”
News You Can Use: June 3, 2022

Dear CCGS Families,
This is our last official newsletter of the 2021-2022 school year! Each day and week I looked for the Rainbow of possibilities and I have to say that at the end of the year, the biggest rainbow for me has been seeing a return to some normalcy! Having parents in the building, students interacting and collaborating together, and field trips have brought so much joy to our days. Over the summer, I ask that you please check our Facebook and Twitter page for news. For the first time ever, our office will be open all summer long! We will have limited hours and the hours may change week to week, but these will be posted on our social media and the door of the building. My summer secretary will be Lacy Spannagel and her email is [email protected]. Feel free to email she or I throughout the summer with any questions. Our library will also be open one day a week for checking out books this summer! I also plan on having a lunch on the lawn with Mrs. Larson, the new principal from YIS. Students will be invited to come with a lunch, listen to a story and check out books on these days. Please watch social media for times. I also wanted to thank you for all of your support and care throughout the year. Because of you and the partnerships we share, students had a successful year with tons of growth both academically and socially.

Have a wonderful summer everyone!

  • Last Day of School: The last day of school is June 7th. This is also our field day. Please send an extra outfit in case they get wet, and a water bottle. Students will need gym shoes because they will be running and moving for a large portion of the day.
  • Movie Day: Encanto Movie day is on Monday. Students can bring a stuffed animal, snack, and a towel to lay on while watching the movie in the gym.
  • School Supply Orders: Our district has provided and easy way to order supplies for your student. Why fight the lines at the store in August when you can order everything needed in one place? Please see the flyer below!
  • Back to School Vaccine Clinics: See the flyer below.
  • Lunch: Lunch chocies are random next week so if you have a picky eater, please send a lunch with your child. Next year, there will no longer be free lunches for all students. Families that are low income will still qualify for a free or reduced lunch price.
  • Devices: Students will keep their devices all summer. Please continue to have your child use Dreambox, Lexia, RAZ, Moby Max, and other programs. The district continues to monitor what students are searching and typing as well, so please remind your child about that too!
  • Summer School Information: If your student is signed up for June summer school sessions, you should be able to see your child's bus information in the HAC on Friday, June 6th. If your child is signed up for a July summer school session where transportation is provided, you will be able to see that in HAC by June 27th. The principal of the summer school program will be sending out information soon!
  • Legacy Brick Program through the YEF: Yorkville Educational Foundation, in partnership with Yorkville CUSD 115, extends an invitation to all Yorkville Foxes, past, present, and future, to cement their legacy through the purchase of a Legacy Brick. Legacy bricks with personalized messages are set to be installed and featured in a new courtyard and walkway surrounding the flagpole at Yorkville High School's main entrance starting in Spring 2023. This opportunity is a timeless way to honor Yorkville families, graduates, parents, alumni, faculty members, businesses, and friends.  All funds raised through the Legacy Brick Program will benefit Yorkville Educational Foundation, the nonprofit partner of Yorkville CUSD 115 that is committed to funding the future through community support. Learn more.  https://www.yef115.org/legacy).

Thank you for a wonderful school year!

Dr. Hamm

Yearbook orders have been extended, but please be aware that if you order now, it may be shipped directly to your house and not to the school for your student.

Hello CCGS families!
Please stop by the school on Tuesday either before or after school for a picture in front of one of the last day of school signs the PTO provided. We also provided items for field day and glow bracelts for our students movie day. We are looking forward to seeing so many of you next year, and feel free to reach out if you have any ideas or questions.

Sincerely,
