The Rev. Hunt Priest, Rector at St. Peter's, Savannah, since 2016, has resigned to become the founding Executive Director of a non-profit working at the intersection of mental health, spiritual growth, and Christianity. Before coming to St. Peter's he was a participant in a research study at John Hopkins University involving religious leaders and the relationship between mystical experiences and improvements in mental health. The primary mission of the soon-to-be-created non-profit is bringing the findings of the study to the Christian church and the general public. "It was a very difficult decision as my time at St. Peter's has been a blessing beyond anything I could have imagined. It is a wonderful church community of gifted and generous people." Details of the study will be released later this year. Hunt and his wife Lisa plan to remain in Savannah and Hunt will eventually be available as a supply priest. 

The Rev. Kelly Steele has been unanimously chosen by the Vestry of St. Peter's as a Priest-In-Charge. She is overjoyed at the honor and privilege of working with such a gifted congregation in this new capacity, helping to bring the strategic plan to fruitfulness. The strategic plan focuses on "shared leadership" development, better aligning ministry to mission, and streamlining administrative processes. "I'm excited to better use the tools we've cultivated from parishioner experience, Kaleidoscope Institute and the Church Development Institute to imagine anew what mission God has in store for the Episcopalians looking to help others on and beyond Skidaway Island," Steele says. She begins this new role on April 12, 2021.
