The Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Ipswich Community Access Media (ICAM), is pleased to announce the launch of Greater Cape Ann Highlights, a video series focusing on member businesses.

Greater Cape Ann Highlights is a new monthly video interview series which will premiere in May. Hosted by Olivia Perez-O'Dess, Director of Community Relations, the series will focus on two greater Cape Ann businesses each month. The first episode features interviews with Spencer Kalker of Cape Ann Botanicals / Cape Ann Cannabis and Gary Rogers of True North Ale Company. Stay tuned for more information on the airing date of the first episode.

Neighbors to Tables

As the impact of COVID 19 continues, many people in Ipswich and the surrounding communities are facing significant challenges around food insecurity. To help address this issue, The Ipswich Family YMCA is partnering once again with the Ipswich Business Roundtable (IBR), The Open Door, Acord Food Pantry, and the local elementary schools for the second annual “Neighbors To Tables” event, a community wide program to support those in need of food assistance, as well as raise awareness, at a time of year when food assistance can be scarce.

Jayme Stone’s Folklife treats old field recordings not as time capsules, but as heirloom seeds passed down from a bygone generation. Planting these sturdy seeds in modern soil, this versatile gathering of musicians has cultivated vibrant Sea Island spirituals, Creole calypsos, and stomp-down Appalachian dance tunes for contemporary listeners. They’ll also play some of Stone’s entrancing originals and unexpected covers.

Orchestral Music of J.S. Bach

Rounding out its 2022 Spring Concert Series, the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation will present a concert by the Appleton Consort of
orchestral works by J.S. Bach on period instruments. The concert is subtitled “An Evening at the Kaffeehaus,” referring to the Zimmerman coffee house in Leipzig where many of Bach’s great secular works were performed. The ensemble is comprised of violin, viola, cello, bass fiddle, flute, oboe, bassoon and harpsichord.
