Weekly Director Letter 05/06/2022
Dear Parents,

This week was all about Moms. I have to say in 17 years, this was our most successful Muffins With Mom event EVER. We had 94% attendance and I know you will agree that our staff did an AMAZING job both at the event and helping your child to make wonderful gifts for you. I hope you liked the photos of the event. If you wish to download them or share them, here is a link to where you can find them on our website.

At this time I would like to offer a special tribute to Benjamin Pulido's mom, Angelica. This Mother's Day she is away serving our country in the military. The photo above touched my heart. She was in Benjamin's photo even though she is miles away. Mrs. Pulido, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Also, a special Mother's Day thank you to my wonderful staff. They are mothers to your children during the day and love each and every one of them like they are their own. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Kids For Kids Academy staff!

You should have gotten a flyer today from Playtime Candids. If you have not seen or ordered the AMAZING photos, the flyer is just one more reminder. You can still view the photos at www.playtimecandids.com code KFKA.

I want to thank everyone who has kept their child home while sick as precautions. We are still getting COVID cases, more than ever as many kids have stopped wearing masks. In the last two weeks we have had nearly a dozen cases in our East Wing. This includes 2 staff who have contracted it after the kids had it. I am begging you to keep sick kids home and if symptomatic get them tested. If positive please let us know so we can alert parents. For the most up to date COVID guidelines click here.

Next week our VPK kids will take their Cap and Gown photos on May 11th. As they arrive in the morning, they will be taken in to shoot their photos. If there is a line, take them to class and we will take them a few at a time. There will be no playground in the morning. Cap and Gowns will be provided, please make sure they are wearing their blue polos. Girls should wear their hair down as it will not fit under the cap if it is up.

Kids who came to our school AFTER the fall photos will also have a photo taken and parents will have the option to purchase them after viewing.

FALL VPK STUDENTS: If your child will be in VPK for the fall and you have not turned in or gotten your VPK certificate yet, please go to www.vpkhelp.org to get one. We must have all VPK certificate no later than June 1st to secure your VPK space for the fall.
Please be advised that the final registration installment will be billed to your account on Monday. This is just a reminder in case your account is on autopay.

A huge thank you to our most caring families. I sent one message about a teen mom who was homeless and in moments I was flooded with message for diapers, clothing, and most needed baby items. She is so grateful for the love of strangers. Any items she could not use as well as the other items collected over the last few weeks were picked up by the Title 1 Migrant Education Program and given to needy migrant families. Also a shout out to the parents of Blue Door for spoiling our staff with an AMAZING luncheon on Thursday. Thank you all for your kindness!

Finally, on a personal note, I am off to Orlando this weekend. My son Benjamin will be graduating from UCF with a degree in Aerospace Engineering then off to a job in Virginia. Why I share this with you is in addition to being a proud mom this Mother's Day, I want to tell you that his love for engineering started at a very young age. At the age of 3 he started with LEGOS. That turned into an obsession with Robotics. It is never too young to start inspiring science in kids. Here is a link to his senior project...With his team, he has built a 3D printer that uses Mars sand to make bricks on Mars! I hope you enjoy it!

Wishing all our Moms a Wonderful Mother's Day!
