MAY 2018
A NOTE FROM ROY
With our 30 th  Anniversary season about to open, some of our favorite artists from our long history will be back at Cape May Stage.

The very first director to work here was John Gulley who is now the Head of Directing at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He’ll be directing Artistic Director Roy Steinberg as King Henry and longtime actress/director/writer Marlena Lustik as Eleanor of Aquitaine in “The Lion in Winter”. Kate McCauley Hathaway is starring as Erma Bombeck in “At Wit’s End” written by Peggy Engel from our Writer’s Symposium with her sister Alison. “Chapter Two” brings back Michael Basile and John Patrick Hayden (who now appears as an action hero on Netflix). Award winning writer Shawn Fisher returns with a new play written for Cape May Stage and taking place on an oyster boat called “The Shuck”. That play brings back Bill Tatum from “The Gin Game” and introduces multiple Emmy Award winner Kim Zimmer who played Reva on “Guiding Light” on CBS. Local actress Kyra Adams now residing in Manhattan and a professional actress completes that cast. Finally, our Christmas show is called “An Actor’s Carol” and this is the East Coast premiere. Another return for Charles Evered, a New Jersey native, living in California who wrote “Class” that we produced. That play is being made into a feature film. We did the world premiere.

All of us at Cape May Stage are immensely grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement and look forward to seeing you at the theatre.
