GaHIN Names Dr. Jeffeory White as New Board Chair

GaHIN Welcomes New Board Chair, Dr. Jeffeory White

GaHIN is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffeory White as its new Chair of the Board of Directors. Dr. White is a long-time supporter of and advocate for GaHIN and has previously served on the Board and Executive Committee of the organization.

Dr. White, founder of White’s Pediatrics, is a Board-Certified Pediatrician who has been practicing medicine in Dalton since 1981. He is a graduate of Loma Linda School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He has served on several local boards and committees, including Hamilton Medical Center’s Board of Trustees. Dr. White is currently on the Board of Trustees for Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Dr. White is also chairperson of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Medical Home Taskforce.

White’s Pediatrics was founded in 1981 as Dalton Pediatric Medical Center by Dr. White. Due to expansion and growth over the years, Dalton Pediatric Medical Center has grown into White’s Pediatrics, with three separate facilities in Dalton, Chatsworth, and Calhoun. Each location has a separate space for sick patients and well patients. The Dalton facility also houses an Urgent Care Clinic that provides emergency after-hours care.

White's Pediatrics Foundation was the brainchild of White's Pediatrics employees who recognized a patient's medical needs cannot be separated from their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. All of these areas must be addressed in order for true healing to be achieved. The Foundation provides assistance to patient families in numerous areas, including diapers, food and clothing. All assistance is funded by donations.

Two long-term Officers of the GaHIN Board have recently left their positions after years of service.

Dominic H. Mack, M.D., MBA - Immediate Past Chair

Dr. Mack is Professor of Family Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) and Director of the National Center for Primary Care. He is the Principal Investigator and Director of the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network (NCRN), an Office of Minority Health cooperative agreement with MSM. Dr. Mack is also founding director of MSM’s HIE, now known as HI-BRIDGE HIE.

Glenn Pearson, FACHE - Past Board Treasurer

Glenn Pearson served as Board Treasurer for GaHIN from the organization's inception. He served as Executive Vice President of the Georgia Hospital Association for almost 20 years, then formed a consultancy, Pearson Health Tech Insights, LLC. He is also the author of "Thriving in the Healthcare Market: Strategies from an Industry-Insider for Selling Your Product."

"Their leadership and stewardship have improved the operations, functionality and financial strength of GaHIN, creating a platform that will support continued growth and innovation."

June Update on GeorgiaConnX Implementation

GaHIN is now connected and fully operational with the Veterans Administration and Piedmont Healthcare through eHealth Exchange (eHX).

Since the connections were completed in June the number of patient data records searched/retrieved by GaHIN members has exploded. In the last 30 days, GaHIN members have retrieved 346,930 records, compared to 968 retrievals for the same period a year ago, according to eHX data.

Query and retrievals from GaHIN are moving up steadily as member connections enabling query-based exchange (QBE) are re-established.
