January 9, 2020
Greetings!

Earlier this week, I held hom eroom meetings with all classes. I am glad that I had the chance to address a few items with students as we start the second semester. Items discussed during the meeting included:

  • Dress code (must have uniform approved sweatshirts or pullovers, must be wearing a polo every day).
  • After school policy (at 3:30 p.m. students need to be in the ELC, with a teacher or with an extracurricular activity).
  • Cell phone policy (cell phones aren't to be used between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
  • Tardiness and absences (proper documentation needed for absences to be excused).
  • Respect (students are to find a way to make the right decision, use the right words, and have compassion when dealing with their fellow students and teachers in the building).

Please talk with your child about these items and reach out to me if you have any questions.

PARENTS
Information from the Nurse's Office
As many of you know, the flu is widespread in the region. The CDC recommends some ways to keep healthy:
1 Get vaccinated now. Flu vaccines are available from your family medical provider, local pharmacies and Public Health Dayton and Montgomery County. Most of the time, health insurance plans cover the cost of the vaccine.
2. Should your child be experiencing flu-like symptoms: fever, cough, body aches, headaches, fatigue and sore throat, please keep your child home from school and contact your medical provider. Children should not return to school until at least 24 hours have passed since the fever (without receiving fever reducing medication) and other symptoms have been resolved.
3. Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
4.Cover sneezes and cough with a tissue or an elbow
5. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
