Hollis Awarded National Army ROTC Scholarship

Katelynne Hollis was awarded
a national Army ROTC scholarship
as a result of her meritorious academic studies, extracurricular participation, and athletic activities. She started the application process
in September 2019 and completed
it in December 2019. 
At the national level, about 12,000 high school seniors compete for about 2,000 Army ROTC scholarships.  The scholarship will cover full tuition and room and board. It also provides $1200 per year for books and $420 per month for living allowances. Her scholarship will begin in her sophomore year. 
Delta Flight Attendant Visits Spanish Classes
MP Alumnus, Madison Trammell, visited Ms. Rowland's Spanish II classes to talk about her career as a Delta Flight Attendant. Madison discussed with students about her profession, shared her experiences, and encouraged students that knowing some Spanish as a flight attendant is very valuable as bilingual flight attendants get paid more and travel to more Spanish speaking countries.

a $60 deposit on your ring & 
the $40 Spirit Pack.  
The $60 down payment is a deposit on your ring only. 
Georgia Parent Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below. The survey closes on March 2.

BioClub News

BioClub Hosts Medical School Students
On Tuesday, February 11th, the BioClub hosted third-year Mercer Medical School students. Members and guests learned about what Medical school is like, the application process, and how to be the best candidate for a medical school program!
Millionaires Club News
Millionaires Club hosted a "Scholarship frenzy" workshop where club leaders, Bethany Maddox, Mikayla Blalock, and Celeste Taylor, showed their peers where to find scholarships and how to apply for them. Bethany and Mikayla focused on seniors making sure they have a resume and apply for local scholarships while Celeste took the underclassmen and talked about building up their resumes and applying for national scholarships. 

Spanish Club News
Spanish Club hosted a Carnaval festival in the gym for all Spanish classes. Carnaval is the Spanish version  of Mardi Gras. Students competed in a Salsa dancing contest and the brightest dressed contest.They also made Carnaval masks, burned their "bad moods", cracked confetti eggs on their friends for good luck and indulged in the food and fun!
