Information Regarding School Events
The superintendents of our local schools, including Dan Breen from the Diocese of Harrisburg, will be meeting this morning to discuss a plan of action for schools in the area. Mr. La Rocca will be updating school families via text, email and phone calls once we receive information. It will also be posted on the school website. We have also been notified that all non-essential field trips and school events through April 15 are to be postponed/rescheduled or cancelled. Please feel free to contact the school with any specific questions. Thank you for  your patience and understanding at this time.

Seeking Businesses for Student Internship Opportunties
Delone Catholic High School is excited to provide innovative opportunities to engage our students in the context of real-life learning through academic internships. Through this program, students in their senior year would have the ability to work in a professional setting for one to two hours daily. Placement would be based on a student's career interests and pursued under the supervision of our internship coordinator in conjunction with an on-site mentor. In addition to exploring experiences on the job site, students will participate in monthly in-school seminars exploring career and workplace issues. All positions will be on an unpaid basis.

We are currently seeking businesses/companies that would have an interest working with our students in this program. Our plan is to begin this program the fall of 2020. If your business/company has an interest in working with us on this new adventure or if you have any questions about our program, please complete this REQUEST FORM and send it to Lori Heberling at Delone Catholic High School either via fax at 717-637-0442 or contact Mrs. Heberling via email at [email protected] .

Thank you for your consideration and interest in our internship program.

Sincerely,

Richard La Rocca
Principal

From the Guidance Office
Congratulations Lauren Little
Lauren Little, pictured here with her guidance counselor Mr. Steve Hutton, recently received the prestigious honor of an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. To attend one of the five U.S. service academies, a student must complete a rigorous application process, which includes securing nomination from a member of Congress. Once nominated, the student still needs to be accepted to the academy.

Lauren plans to pursue Law and Legal Studies and will play softball for West Point as well. We are so very proud of Lauren's hard work and determination in making this dream become a reality. We look forward to following her future endeavors!

Pennsylvania March for Life
Join us for the first-ever Pennsylvania March for Life next May!  Both sides of the abortion debate agree that the issue is now moving to the states.    Recently, a few states have passed some of the most pro-life laws in the country, while others have sought to legalize abortion up to the very moment of birth.    Pennsylvania is an extremely important state in this regard because we have one of the strongest pro-life histories in the nation, a tradition that is now at risk.    Recognizing this reality, the March for Life is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference and the Pennsylvania Family Institute to host the first-ever  Pennsylvania March for Life  on  Monday, May 18, 2020 .    The March will give pro-life Pennsylvanians the opportunity to pray, march, and lobby their representatives for the legal protection of the unborn.

Details:  Pennsylvania State Capitol, Harrisburg, PA  ● Monday, May 18, 2020  ● 11 am - Rally  ● 12 pm - March for Life.  Please see the website for more details -  PaMarchForLife.org  - or contact Bethany Peck  or Dan Bartkowiak.
SportsLeader Virtue of the Week
One pillar of the SportsLeader program is a weekly virtue that we incorporate into our athletic practices and throughout our school community. Every week, we will share them here to encourage the students to take the virtue into their homes as well!

Our virtue this week is being MAGNANIMOUSThe strength of having a big heart.  If each one of us on the team is more MAGNANIMOUS, thinking of others before ourselves, putting the team above ourselves ... and we develop the habit of looking for ways to do good for others we will be a better team and we'll have a lot more fun this year.
