Dear Mercy Families,
On Monday, March 16, Mercy will be holding a staff only professional development day and students will not report to school. The focus will be in preparation for instituting a plan for E-LEARNING and continuity of student instruction should the need arise to close school. This E-LEARNING model will be communicated to all students and parents.
At this time, we are not being advised to close school. Any decision to implement a school closure in anticipation of, or in response to, community spread of COVID-19 would be made under the direction of Oakland County Health Department and/or the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, Michigan Department of Education, and The Archdiocese of Detroit.
The Governor has recommended that schools, businesses and communities consider canceling or postponing non-essential events/gatherings of more than 100 people in a shared space. In keeping with this recommendation, we are in the process of evaluating Mercy events that meet this criteria and will follow MHSAA guidelines for athletics.
We are committed to sharing timely and accurate information to the extent possible during this rapidly changing climate. Please routinely check your email and stay connected to Mercy health and safety announcements as well as previous communications and resources on our web page here.
Thank you for your flexibility and support!
Sincerely,
Mercy Administration
