CPC3 Conference Featured Speakers

The 2021 Joint Virtual Conference will be held on December 1st and 2nd through a virtual collaboration between Alberta Society of Professional Biologists, the Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta, and the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals 

Conferences like the CPC3 aid in professional development and networking; key aspects for developing a professional career. That's why free student registration is available for future professionals to help develop your professional network and start you on the road to professional development.

ACPA, ASPB, and AAFMP will sponsor a limited number of students wishing to attend the annual CPC3 Conference.

Any regulated or non-regulated registrants of AAFMP, ACPA, or ASPB are eligible to enter the 2021 Virtual Conference Video Contest. Videos submitted will be posted at the 2020 Virtual Conference on a media wall for all registrants to view. Submissions from both individuals and teams are accepted.

We will announce the top category winners at the conference. Winners will be chosen based on the number of views of the videos. The winners of each category will receive an Amazon gift card valued at $500! (One award per group submission.)

The video contest deadline is October 29, 2021. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.
The new ACPA Jurisprudence Course is an online course that can be completed in approximately three hours. To access the course, sign in to your ACPA online account and look for Jurisprudence course under the Member Menu. You will need to register for the course with a one time fee of $150 + GST. Thereafter, you can return to the course as often as you wish.

New members and CIT's must complete this course before they can use the P.Chem. title.
We have just recently completed updates to the course and it is now available on a new platform. If you have already taken the Jurisprudence Course prior to July 2021, please ‘Sign Up’ for an account at https://acpa.rapidlms.com/products/6276-acpa-jurisprudence-course, select ‘+ Create Learner Account’ and follow the prompts.

Once your Learner Account has been created, please contact us at acpaoffice@pchem.ca so we are able to grant you access to the course.
NOTE: This course is a mandatory requirement for ACPA membership.
This new virtual Ethics course will retain much of the material and the interactive elements that our members valued in the previous one-day course. The course will provide an introduction to the ethical framework that guides professional chemists in the conduct of their duties. The course still focuses on solving practical issues that arise in professional practice.

ACPA Seminar Series
The ACPA offers a virtual seminar on the second or third Tuesday evening of the month on an interesting topic. The presentation on a topic of interest is usually about 35 minutes long followed by Q & A session with the audience. Members in attendance can earn 1 PDC credit for each seminar they attend.

The next seminar in the fall series takes place on October 19, 2021. Our speaker is David Antoniuk, CEO of Applied Quantum Materials and his Topic is Quantum Materials for Healthcare -Tackling COVID – 19 Detection.
ACPA ACCEPTING 2022 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
The ACPA Undergraduate Scholarship in Chemistry ($1000) is awarded annually to a student who is registered in a full-time undergraduate chemistry program at a university in the province of Alberta.





Application Deadline: March 31, 2022
The ACPA has established the Arthur Bollo-Kamara Scholarship as a memorial tribute to Arthur Bollo-Kamara, Ph.D., P.Chem., and the work he conducted on behalf of chemists in this province. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student registered in a graduate chemistry program at a university in the province of Alberta.
