Monroe County Board of Education Revises Covid Protocols

The Monroe County Board of Education revised the district’s Covid-19 protocols at a called board meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. The approved protocols are highlighted below.

  • Highly Recommend masking for staff and students in school and on buses.
  • Highly Recommend that unvaccinated staff and students 12 years and older receive the Covid-19 vaccination. We will work with DPH to set up vaccination schedules for willing staff and students.
  • Contact trace exposures within 6 ft for 15 minutes in the school setting, allowing parents the option to quarantine their child.
  • Use social distancing as needed to help reduce exposures.
  • Only approved visitors will be allowed in the school buildings until further notice. Approved visitors at this time include Student Teachers, 4-H personnel, Choosing the Best personnel, and MGRESA personnel.

We will continue to monitor our local situation with regard to positive cases and community spread. These protocols will be reviewed again at our regularly scheduled board meeting on October 19, 2021. We are hopeful that case counts will continue to drop and we can lower mitigation protocols even further in our school district.
