Board Meetings Now Hybrid
During the pandemic, Village Board meetings were held virtually. As the situation has greatly improved, Board meetings have gone hybrid - participants meet in person and remotely through Zoom. Individuals interested in attending a Board meeting in person must preregister as there is limited seating available. To preregister for a Board meeting, contact the Village Hall at 847-634-9440 or email Administrative Assistant Sherry Shlagman at sshlagman@longgroveil.gov. For information on how to attend virtually, visit the Village website. The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
Village Manager Joins Area Chamber Board
Village Manager Greg Jackson has recently joined the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce (LZACC) as a member of the Board of Directors At-Large. This is the first time in several years in which the Long Grove Village Manager has participated on the LZACC Board. His membership is an opportunity to raise awareness of the exciting business activities happening throughout the Village and the region. More information about the LZACC can be found here.
Update on Tree Trimming
Over the next three months, ComEd will continue tree trimming work as highlighted on the above map. The maintenance work helps prevent tree branches from interfering with power lines, and is being performed by trained arborists and monitored by the Village's Forester. Please contact Village Hall at 847-634-9440 with any questions.
Traffic Calming
Discussions continued at the April 26 Village Board meeting regarding potential traffic calming solutions in the area of Checker and Schaeffer Roads. The Board has asked Village staff to evaluate the testing of potential solutions, which will provide the Board with data to consider for further review.
Reminder About Solicitors
Though the Village may not prohibit door-to-door solicitors, there are procedures and rules in place to monitor soliciting activities. To solicit within the Village, individuals or groups other than religious organizations must file an application for a permit, which can be found online here. All solicitors must carry a permit, and can only solicit from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Residents have the right to ask to see the permit, and can opt out of door-to-door solicitations by posting a “No Solicitors” window cling, available at no charge from the Village. To request a window cling, please email Sherry Shlagman or call 847-634-9440.

Local Native Plant Sales
Several native plant sales, online and in-person, are being held in Lake County throughout May. These plants, grasses, trees and shrubs are suited for our local soils and climate, and help home gardeners beautify their gardens and landscapes. Follow the links below for information on each:

May Household Chemical Waste Collections
The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) will host free household chemical waste collections on Saturday, May 14 and Saturday, May 28, at its Gurnee facility. Remember to Clean Culverts
The Village contracts with the Ela Township Highway Department to keep storm drains and culverts in the right-of-ways clear of debris, which also helps prevent clogs and nesting grounds for mosquitos and pests. Residents are asked to report any blocked culverts in the right-of-ways to the Village by calling 847-634-9440, and to keep all drains and culverts on their property clear of any debris.
