TRAFFIC ALERT: SEPT. 27, 2021
ADDITIONAL FLAGGING OPERATIONS SCHEDULED ON LONGHILL ROAD THIS WEEK
Lane closures under flagger control are scheduled to continue the week of Sept. 27 for underground pipe placements

Contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are currently scheduled to perform day- and nighttime flagging operations on Longhill Road this week at the following locations:
  • between Glenburnie Road and New Point Road on Sept. 28-30* from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • between the Olde Towne Square shopping center and Wellspring United Methodist Church overnight on Sept. 28* from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During this work in each of these sections of the corridor, Longhill Road traffic will be alternated in each direction under flagger control to allow for the placement of underground pipes across the roadway.

Due to the increase in construction activity and current traffic configuration along Longhill Road and the Olde Towne Road/Devon Road intersection, motorists should anticipate potential delays, utilize alternate routes, and plan their commutes by using VDOT’s free traffic information tools:

*This work is dependent upon weather conditions; therefore, the schedule and duration of the work are subject to change.
