Synagogue Council of Massachusetts is excited to announce the 2020/5780 roll-out of our
AREV MA granting initiative. The initiative, honoring the memory and legacy of Anita Rednerz"l, is designed to encourage the cultivation of innovative leadership models in congregational settings and reflects Synagogue Council's mission to empower synagogues as vital centers of Jewish life. AREV MA seeks to awardthree grants of $1800.
Completed grant proposals are
due on May 1, 2020by mail or email.

In its inaugural year, AREV MA awarded three grants:
Washington Square Minyan: What Happens in Synagogue: Learning to Lein, Daven and Gabbai
An education project designed to increase the presence of liturgical leaders in the Minyan. In addition, the curriculum produced will be replicable for communities throughout the region.
Temple Israel of Natick: Next Generation Leadership Initiative
A project designed to strengthen the capacity of current lay leaders in the congregation as well as develop a deeper cohort of volunteers, especially a younger adult cohort.
Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills: The Tibetan Singing Bowl: A Jewish Perspective
Beth Shalom's Sisterhood will employ art and music as a mode of community building for women in their community.
