COVID-19 Update
Thursday, March 12, 2020
Dear  ,

In light of the concerns over the impact on our community of COVID-19, we'd like to share with you the following recommended steps and resources. These resources will help you make decisions on your business activities. Please share with your fellow REALTORS® to ensure that everyone is as informed as possible.

We recommend that you follow the CDC's health and safety protocols and share these protocols with clients who are actively in the market to buy a home, are selling a home, or are considering whether to do so. The decision on whether to sell or search for a home at this time is ultimately up to each individual. Please be cautious and use extra care when holding or attending open houses. See your broker for additional guidance on best practices during this time.

As we evaluate the course of the association's day-to-day business, GRAR is following the recommendations of Monroe County Public Health and encourage you to do the same. Monroe County has established a  Coronavirus Resource Page.  As of today, this page states, "There's no reason to take any special precautions to avoid coronavirus other than the ones you would already take to ensure you are protected from colds and flu..." This could change at any time, so we recommend that you check this site regularly if you have questions.

New York State has established a Coronavirus general information hotline at 888-364-3065.

NAR released the following guide for REALTORS® on March 4. Please take a moment to read this helpful guide -  Coronavirus: A Guide for REALTORS®

In a Rochester Business Journal article published March 11, Michael Mendoza, Commissioner of Public Health for Monroe County gives recommendations about the virus. Kim Harding, partner at Nixon Peabody, advises employers on many aspects of this situation.

As an association, GRAR has a plan in place to ensure member support in the event of a growing number of local cases of the virus. As of today, we have not canceled any meetings, classes, or events due to the virus, but we are monitoring the risks closely and will take action, as needed, in consideration of the health and safety of our members and staff.

Please follow the GRAR Member Facebook Group Page for regular updates.
