Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
December 4, 2020

Dear Roslyn Families,

Please be advised that a student at Harbor Hill has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the building on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Since our classes are held in contained pods, and students have no interaction with the school population at large, it has been determined that this case does not warrant a school building closure. At this time, every parent who has a child in the class where the student tested positive, or who is considered a potential close contact, has been notified. Our internal contact tracing is now complete. As always, our staff will conduct a thorough cleaning of the elementary school with special attention paid to the affected classroom.

In cooperation with the Nassau County Health Department (NCDOH), the class has been
instructed to switch over to remote learning for the duration of the quarantine period. I ask that any family who is advised to quarantine by the NCDOH continue to be diligent during the quarantine period to minimize their exposure to others.

We are presently working with the NCDOH to help them complete their external contact tracing investigation, and we will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our school community.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, please continue to follow local health guidelines to keep
yourself, your families, and our community healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
Superintendent of Schools
