Board Meeting Re-cap


The Fairview Park Board of Education held a Special Meeting/Work Session on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 beginning at 6:30 p.m.




Key Highlights:

  • Under the meeting Action items, the board approved a first resolution to place a 7.9-Mill new operating levy on the ballot in November 2020. A second resolution will be presented for approval at the Regular meeting on July 23. Read this article for more information about the upcoming levy.


  • Dr. Wagner discussed a proposed change to the District Calendar and the start of school re-entry support and planning (Listen to the discussion beginning at 15:27 in the video). The re-entry plan will be on the agenda for approval at the July 23 Regular Board Meeting. Within the days after, the plan will be shared with families along with a survey for fall planning. The plan includes a full-remote learning options for families who wish to enroll, as well as several learning scenarios based on the color-coded county risk level.



There were two public comments on agenda items.

The Board entered into Executive Session at 8:13 p.m. to discuss Superintendent and Treasurer evaluations, and adjourned the meeting at at 9:21 p.m.
