St. Pete Youth Farm Ambassador Sherries
Happy Fall! Though it doesn't quite feel like it yet. We've been getting our beds cleaned up and starting seedlings to prepare for what we hope will be an abundant Fall harvest. We were so fortunate to have gotten the support to get the farm going and growing this past Spring, and we want to continue that growth the best we can.
We had our first volunteer day of the season last month in August. A handful of volunteers attended to help clear out some beds.

We continue to keep strong partnerships with NOMAD Art Bus and Keep St. Pete Lit. They have been so great about providing their resources and skills to benefit our youth in amazing ways.

We want to thank Council Member Brandi Gabbard for visiting our youth to listen to their feedback and insight into the program, and what they'd like to see implemented in the future. Seeing elected officials at work is so important and we work to provide that access.

We received a $10k grant for our Fresh 'n Local Greenhouse project from a USF alum. This will be a huge help when it comes time to secure the hydroponic system. We had the greenhouse delivered to the farm this Summer and buildout is pending.

Our Youth Ambassadors have been staying busy and we're grateful for all the help we continue to receive. If you're interested in getting involved, check out our upcoming events below!

We'll be having our next community workday this Saturday, September 25th! All are welcome. If you haven't had a chance to make it out to the farm this is a great opportunity to do so. Bring a water bottle, hat, and gloves if you have any (we have extras). We'll have music, art and so much more!
Can't make it this Saturday?
We have our October workday planned! We'll be celebrating National Dashiki Day on the 30th. We're hopeful for a bountiful harvest to share, so come out and celebrate and get involved. We make it a day the whole family can enjoy.
