Briccy's Spirit Day

Our next Spirit Day will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at Briccy's Coffee, in Castle Rock. 20% of all sales, from 6am-8pm, will go to our WCA PTO.

Briccy's offers an assortment of beverages, as well as gelato and other eats. You can check out their menu here and pop in their shop any time on the 22nd. Please mention WCA at point of purchase and thank you for supporting our school!

Second Round Open-Enrollment

The second round of open enrollment opens on Wednesday, January 22nd. If you know of someone who did not make it in the first round and still is interested in attending WCA for the 20-21 school year, encourage them to enroll early once second round opens. We will likely have minimal spots available in some grade levels, and it is first-come, first-served. It is our hope to be able to accommodate everyone who has a desire to be part of the WCA family, but in order to do so, we need early, accurate enrollment numbers, so we can build our staffing accordingly for the coming year.

Choir and Theater Updates

Thank you to everyone who loaned Christmas trees and decorations for the Choir Concert. These are now ready to be picked up. Anything left behind by Friday will be considered a donation to the program and will be put in storage.

Elementary choir is now combined for grades 1-4 and is on Thursday mornings do to Ms. Armstrong's induction meetings. We start up again this Thursday the 9th at 7:15.

Elementary cast of I See Stars will now meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays due to a change in choreography scheduling. We will alternate days to accommodate everyone's schedule. The schedule will be sent out weekly on the Remind app. Middle School cast still meets on Wednesdays.

Tech Crew for I See Stars has now begun. This is an extracurricular activity that requires contact hours and instruction from Ms. Armstrong- for that reason, contracts and fees are due by Friday. There is still room for some crew members and parent volunteers (no fee for volunteers). If you are interested, please send Ms. Armstrong an email  as soon as possible.

Middle School Kindness Wall

If your Middle School student did anything this holiday season to help make the world better, we would love to hear about it.  In January, we will be working to empower our students to be "upstanders" as part of our anti-bullying unit. We will be posting pictures and stories of good things our students have done, on the wall outside the cafeteria, as inspirational examples of how we can all be advocates for multiple aspects of kindness, equity, diversity, and social awareness. Please send pictures and stories to  [email protected].

Middle School Heritage Fair

We are looking for parent volunteers willing to help coordinate a heritage fair for our middle school this Spring.  If you are willing to help, please email [email protected] .

Thank you, Alfonso and Janet!

The students of cougar committee decided to celebrate and honor two of our staff members who work hard to keep the school clean and safe- Alfonso and Janet.
They created a sign-up genius to collect gift cards to create gift card bouquet's/baskets. The entire school made cards and banners to show WCA's appreciation of these two.
Cougar Committee is very thankful to all of the many people who made donations. We had the whole middle school cheering for them and gave them the  baskets, making sure they knew it was from all of WCA!

Many tears were shed by Alfonso, Janet, our students and our staff!
